Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PICK A POMODORO (MK Katjedi) jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left side front gate of the starting stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. b) MONT TREMBLANT (Y Ramzan) and WELSH STARLET (*N Nastili) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h26) b) Permission was granted for AETHELWULF (*B Soodoo) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) WELSH STARLET (*N Nastili), which was slow to begin, failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. Thereafter, Apprentice N Nastili did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) MYSTIC VISION (C Zackey) shifted out continuously away from the crop from the 400m, was corrected sharply off the outside running rail and thereafter shifted inwards away from the crop from the 150m. Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. e) NUCLEAR POWER (X Ndlovu) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m and was corrected at the 50m. f) OUTBACK EXPRESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
