Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WINTER SNAP (A Domeyer) jumped slow, losing one length. b) BLACK CHEETAH (C Zackey) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m BLUFF ON BLUFF (M Yeni) was carried outwards marginally and made contact with the hindquarters of ESCARPMENT (*DD Louw). Immediately thereafter, BLUFF ON BLUFF (M Yeni) clipped the heels of WINTER SNAP (A Domeyer) and fell, dislodging Jockey M Yeni. BLUFF ON BLUFF was attended to on course by the Veterinary Surgeon. Jockey M Yeni was attended to by the paramedics and thereafter was stood down by the Medical Officer. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. b) Jockey A Fortune reported that LITTLE BOY BLUE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) WINTER SNAP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LITTLE BOY BLUE - examined post-race. Blowing b) BLUFF ON BLUFF - fractured left front. Humanely euthanised. Specimens were collected for analysis (Dr E Reynders) THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
