Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DIAMOND BOMBER (C Orffer) jumped with its head up and was slow into stride. b) ACT OF GRACE (S Moodley) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. c) JOU LEKKER DING (S Veale) and SAACHI ONE (C Little) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) For some distance leaving the 800m CATCH A PENNY (A Fortune) raced in restricted galloping room on the inside of APRICITY (M Yeni), which showed a tendency to over race and was hanging in on the turn. b) At the 150m SAACHI ONE (C Little) was momentarily inconvenienced when close to the heels of QUEEN REGENT (JP van der Merwe). c) In the concluding stages LA LANDONNE (*N Yuen) took an awkward stride and shifted in sharply when crossing the shadow cast by the grandstand. As a consequence, Apprentice N Yuen was obliged to stop riding to straighten LA LANDONNE and PENTOLINA (R Fourie), which was following, had to be steadied for a number of strides. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that APRICITY coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of SAACHI ONE (C Little), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) TULIP FIELDS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
