Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MANEKI NEKO (*B Soodoo) jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left-side front gate of the starting stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. b) SILVONIAN (C Zackey) and FLIGHT ENGINEER (M Yeni) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WARRIOR OF ROYALTY recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer JP Nel was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) At approximately the 200m MANEKI NEKO (*B Soodoo) shifted outwards away from the crop and thereafter was directed inwards to continue its run shortly before the finish. c) In view of the performance of RUSSIAN EMPIRE (E Webber), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this horse. Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this horse on his return to the stables. d) In view of the performance of GRIFFIN PARK (M van Rensburg), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) RAVILIOUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
