THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	AFRICAN MEMOIR (S Moodley) jumped awkwardly and brushed the hindquarters of MAURITIUS KESTREL (A Domeyer).
b)	WORLDLY (C Little) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The cheek piece fitted to POMP IT UP (JP van der Merwe) broke and had to be replaced prior to this gelding leaving the parade ring. 
b)	Jockey C Little reported that WORLDLY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking AZZURRI in front of the saddle on two occasions leaving the 200m. Jockey C Murray signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 500.00.
d)	POMP IT UP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TJ)
