THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROCKABILLY (C Habib) stumbled leaving the stalls. b) HAWKSDALE (S Moodley) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) JABBERWOCKY (S Khumalo) proved reluctant to canter to the start. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was advised that should this horse behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) OLD FASHIONED (K Matsunyane) hung out badly from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of JABBERWOCKY (S Khumalo), (distance 25/1 lengths, betting 9,90), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) OLD FASHIONED (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
