THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE 30-MINUTE INTERVAL BETWEEN RACES. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROMILLY (G Lerena) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey J Penny (COMING IN HOT) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey J Penny reported that this gelding changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey K Matsunyane (SAIL THE SKY) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) GRAND EMPIRE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MS).
