Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BOOZY SUZIE (S Veale) was buffeted between ALESSIA ASHEVILLE (*V Jodhee) and LADY VERITAS (M Yeni). b) SALOON GIRL (*N Yuen), which raced wide without cover in the early stages, was allowed to race around runners and to the front of the field at the 1000m and tired quickly in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Leaving the 100m EISTEDDFOD (C Zackey) had to be checked away from the heels of GIRL MAGIC (A Fortune). Shortly thereafter, DREAM SEARCHER (C Bantam), which was making its run on the inside running rail, shifted out slightly and was bumped by GIRL MAGIC (A Fortune), which continued to shift in and had to be straightened. The Stewards called for a race review which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer AN Marcus, the trainer of the 2nd-placed horse against the 1st-placed GIRL MAGIC (A Fortune) on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol film and giving consideration of the margin of 0,4 of a length between the two horses concerned, overruled the objection and refunded Trainer AN Marcus' deposit. In coming to the decision, the Objection Board took into account that the winning distance between GIRL MAGIC and DREAM SEARCHER had increased after this incident and could not be satisfied that DREAM SEARCHER (C Bantam) would have finished ahead of GIRL MAGIC (A Fortune) had this incident not occurred. Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of GIRL MAGIC, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to EISTEDDFOD and DREAM SEARCHER in the latter stages. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days. (Dates: 27/11/2025 to 08/12/2025 excluding 29/11/2025 & 06/12/2025) d) In view of the performance of MIGHTY MARY (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) GIRL MAGIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
