AT THE START, THOONSIL REARED, DISLODGED JOCKEY S KHUMALO AND BOLTED. THIS COLT WAS TAKEN IN HAND, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	KING ETHELRED (*S Valjalo) was slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	KING ETHELRED (*S Valjalo) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m.
b)	Shortly before the finish line, NARETOI (M van Rensburg), which hung out from the 200m, was carried in marginally by EQUILATERAL (C Habib), which shifted in away from the crop.	
c)	Jockey C Zackey (GONNA CATCH YOU) did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	Apprentice T Mayhew (BRODY) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Apprentice T Mayhew reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	Jockey L Nhlapo reported that he felt something amiss with EPIDAURUS in running.
