THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NIGHT IN JAPAN (*N Nastili) was stubborn loading. b) SALAGADOOLA (*J Botes) was nervous in the stalls. c) ROYAL MERMAID (C Habib) was nervous in the stalls, kicked the back gates and thereafter, was slow into stride. d) CELTIQUE (E Webber) jumped awkwardly with its head up and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Permission was granted for OH MANDY (W Agrella) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. b) Shortly after the start DREAM TEAM (MK Katjedi) was bumped outwards by RIPSNORTER (C Little), which jumped outwards. c) NIGHT IN JAPAN (*N Nastili) and SALAGADOOLA (*J Botes) came together and bumped shortly after the start. d) OH MANDY (W Agrella) and RIPSNORTER (C Little) over raced in the early and middle stages. e) NIGHT IN JAPAN (*N Nastili) was carried outwards by RIPSNORTER (C Little), which shifted outwards at approximately the 300m. f) OH MANDY (W Agrella) shifted outwards away from the crop from the 250m. g) Jockey E Webber reported that CELTIQUE was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) ROYAL MERMAID, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer F Jacobs, acting on behalf of Trainer DG Smith, was advised.
