Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BOMBER STREAM (S Naidoo) and FULL OF MAGIC (Y Ramzan) jumped slow, losing one length. b) MANEKI NEKO (*N Nastili) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h50) b) Permission was granted for WORLD PHAROAH (M Yeni) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) BOMBER STREAM (S Naidoo) and XPLICIT CONTENT (*J Botes) were assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. Trainer L Gila was charged with a contravention of Local Condition 5.7 read with Rule 49.1 in that he failed to advise the Chairman of the Stipendiary Board and/or the NRB of his intention to use a lead pony for BOMBER STREAM and XPLICIT CONTENT at final declaration. Trainer L Gila signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. d) XPLICIT CONTENT (*J Botes) failed to parade and proceeded directly to the start. Trainer L Gila was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. e) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, WORDSWORTH (M van Rensburg) cast its right front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay. f) Shortly after the start, BOMBER STREAM (S Naidoo) was bumped outwards by MANEKI NEKO (*N Nastili), which jumped out awkwardly. g) B FIFTYTWO jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, which resulted in Jockey E Webber becoming unbalanced for a number of strides shortly after the start. h) MANEKI NEKO (*N Nastili) and CAPE CAPRI (MK Katjedi) raced awkwardly with their heads up around the turn and into the straight. i) FULL OF MAGIC (Y Ramzan) was hanging in from the 200m. g) Jockey S Naidoo reported that BOMER STREAM did not stride out freely behind. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) CAPE CAPRI (MK Katjedi) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) i) WORLD PHAROAH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
