THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SYX HOTFIX (*D Pillay) and RODRIGUEZ (*B Marx-Jacobson) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) BLAZING LIGHT (*D D Louw) over-raced in the early stages. b) Leaving the 1000m RODRIGUEZ (*B Marx-Jacobson) was carried out by TRUE TROJAN (S Hlengwa) which rolled out. c) Shortly before the finish a municipal power failure occurred at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse. This resulted in the participants, after crossing the finish line, easing up in vastly diminished light in the pull up area. As a precaution, the remainder of the Race-meeting was conducted with the use of the course generators. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with DRIELANDENPUNT in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer will be asked to report back on the condition of DRIELANDENPUNT on return to stables. e) EVENTIDOR (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
