Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	PILGRIM (E Webber), GIMME THE BEST (C Zackey) and CEDARPEAK (*G Dookhit) were slow into stride.
b)	NIGHT IN JAPAN (*S Bungane) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls, made contact with the right-side front gate and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h34)
b)	JANNEMAN WAT KAN (Y Ramzan) over raced in the early and middle stages.
c)	NIGHT IN JAPAN (*S Bungane) was carried out continuously by BAHAMIAN BEAT (R Fourie), which shifted out away from the crop from approximately the 300m.
	Jockey R Fourie appeared before the Board and was advised to straighten his mounts timeously when shifting ground in running. 
d)	Jockey C Zackey did not persevere with his riding of GIMME THE BEST from the 200m and thereafter reported that this gelding choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
	Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. 
e)	HOLLANDIA BAKKERIJ, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM)
