Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On arrival at the start, NELSON BAY (C Zackey) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (S Khumalo) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates. c) ANDY COOGLE (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls and stood awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h19) b) The start of this race was delayed to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets. c) Shortly after the start, CHAMPONELLE (M van Rensburg), EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (S Khumalo), THE WINTER LAKE (L Mxothwa) and PLAY ACT (E Webber) were buffeted, had to steady and suffered varying degrees of interference between FOREST SPY (Y Ramzan), which jumped outwards and shifted out and EL ROMIACHI (*G Dookhit), which jumped inwards. Jockey Y Ramzan (FOREST SPY) and Apprentice G Dookhit (EL ROMIACHI) appeared before the Board and were advised to straighten their mounts sooner when shifting ground shortly after the start. d) EL ROMIACHI (*G Dookhit) was hanging in from the 300m and was corrected at the 100m. e) ANDY COOGLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchey was advised.
