Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, the bridle on TULIP FIELDS came adrift and had to be re-fitted. This caused a further delay to the start of this race. Thereafter, TULIP FIELDS (M Yeni) was stubborn loading. b) CALL ME SECRET (JP van der Merwe) and AUGUSTA ROSSO (C Bantam) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) PRINCESS OF GAUL (C Zackey) and TULIP FIELDS (M Yeni) made contact leaving the stalls. Thereafter, PRINCESS OF GAUL (C Zackey) over raced in the early and middle stages. c) At the 350m EDUCATOR (L Mxothwa) took an awkward stride when steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN PALM (K de Melo), which had difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the straight and shifted out slightly. Jockey K de Melo appeared before the Board and was advised to be more aware of other runners when his mounts are shifting ground in similar circumstances. d) In view of the performance of AUGUSTA ROSSO (C Bantam), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding TULIP FIELDS (M Yeni), Trainer DM Kannemeyer will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) QUICKSTEPGAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
