THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MEXICAN PETE (K de Melo) and DELTA PRIDE (R Fourie) made contact leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	MEXICAN PETE proved difficult proceeding to the start. As a consequence, Jockey K de Melo dismounted and led this gelding to the start, causing a delay.
	Trainer H Brown was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended.
b)	Jockey C Murray reported that OBJET D' ART (C Murray), which was taken in behind runners from its wide draw in the early stages, took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
c)	SCOTTISH LINKS (G Lerena) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight.
d)	In view of the performance of NEVADA KING (JP van der Merwe), which took an awkward stride at the 150m and thereafter tired quickly, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	In view of the performance of MEXICAN PETE (K de Melo), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	TOUCHED BY ANGELS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Muscutt was advised. (ZM)
