EN ROUTE TO THE START, SINGLE COMBAT (M K KATJEDI) PULLED ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE, WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BJORN IRONSIDE (S Khumalo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) SINGLE COMBAT (M K Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RONDEBOSCH (C Zackey) over-raced in the early stages, thereafter tired in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Leaving the 200m, WINDS OF CHANGE (M Yeni) was carried in marginally by BJORN IRONSIDE (S Khumalo), which hung in from the 400m. c) Jockey S Veale reported that KING HARALD took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey M K Katjedi reported that SINGLE COMBAT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) ONE FINE WINTER (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MduP).
