THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	JET FORCE (G van Niekerk) was stubborn loading, causing a delay and thereafter, was slow into stride.
b)	SEE IT AGAIN (A Fortune) fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing two lengths.
c) 	SUGAR MOUNTAIN (C Orffer) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	DAVE THE KING (C Murray) and SNOW PILOT (K de Melo) raced in advance of the field in the early stages. 
b)	At the 300m GARRIX (S Khumalo) was brushed on the hindquarters by MON PETIT CHERIE (R Fourie), which shifted out marginally. 
c)	In the concluding stages, JET FORCE (G van Niekerk) was steadied briefly when awkwardly placed on the inside of GARRIX (S Khumalo). 
d)	In view of the performance of SNOW PILOT (K de Melo), which raced prominently in the early stages and tired quickly in the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this horse.
e)	Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline C) in that he mis-used his crop by striking GARRIX on consecutive strides. Jockey S Khumalo signed an admission of guilt and was fined R5 000.00.
f)	DAVE THE KING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M de Kock was advised. (ZM)
g)	GARRIX, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Steyn was advised. (SC)
