THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SINGLETON SAM (G Lerena) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ARISTOTLE (C Habib) hung out from the 400m, b) Leaving the 400m, SINGLETON SAM (G Lerena), which shifted in, was steadied when awkwardly placed between SHADOWFAX (R Fourie) and WHISPERING DEATH (M Yeni), which rolled in. c) Jockey M Yeni reported that WHISPERING DEATH made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) ONE EYE ON VEGAS (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Mike de Kock advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) TINA LOVELACE was ridden by Jockey M K Katjedi (declared 16 December 2025 at 09H02). Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on TINA LOVELACE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer S G Tarry, thereby necessitating a change of Rider. Jockey K de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) WHISPERING DEATH fatigued. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
