DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, DUCHESS OF PALOMA (*S VALJALO) KICKED THE BACK GATE, RESULTING IN POMOZELOUS (P MXOLI) BREAKING THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE STALLS. POMOZELOUS WAS RESTRAINDED BY JOCKEY P MXOLI AND RETURNED TO THE START. DUCHESS OF PALOMA (*S VALJALO) AND POMOZELOUS (P MXOLI) WERE EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, PASSED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, DUCHESS OF PALOMA (*S Valjalo) kicked the back gate, resulting in POMOZELOUS (P Mxoli) becoming restless and breaking through the front gates. Assistant Trainer T Woodruff, acting on behalf of Trainer J Crawford, was advised to reschool DUCHESS OF PALOMA prior to her next engagement. b) ANNEWITHAN E (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. c) ROSY LEMON (S Khumalo) was slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of SIGRID SWING (C Habib), (distance 5,90 lengths, betting 11/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) ROSY LEMON (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) RED SPARROW raced without a tongue tie (declared 15 December 2025 at 07H36). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SIGRID SWING mouth injury; fatigued. b) DUCHESS OF PALOMA abrasion left hind. Race 6 contd. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
