THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, BATTLE OFTHE BULGE (J R Syster) kicked the back gates. b) CODEWORD (P Mxoli) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of ACTUARY (C Habib), (distance 7,50 lengths, betting 8/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with HURRICANE POWER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Trainer A P Peter was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate WINTER WEDDING against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) OKLAHOMA SMOKESHOW (*M Mbuto), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WINTER WEDDING: Apprentice S Valjalo weighed out at 50,1kg, only claiming 2kg of her 4kg apprentice allowance.
