THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LAYDELAY (R Fourie), OCEAN FLAME (*B Soodoo), TOUCH THE SWORD (C Little) and VINO RIOJA (Y Ramzan) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. (12h34) b) OCEAN FLAME (*B Soodoo) stumbled shortly after the start. c) PRICELESS TREASURE (S Naidoo) hung in from the 300m. d) The saddle on LAYDELAY (R Fourie) slipped back in running, and thereafter this filly hung in in the concluding stages. An Official confirmed the saddle slip. e) GENERAL PARDON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). f) OCEAN FLAME, placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
