THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COPPER PLATE (C Murray) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) NUCLEAR FORCE (S Veale) and GOLD DE GRACE (*K J Lihaba) were slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) COPPER PLATE (C Murray) came under pressure at approximately the 1000m and failed to respond to Jockey C Murray's urgings. Thereafter, Jockey C Murray did not persevere with his riding from the 400m and reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with ROMEO'S MAGIC in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) CARTAGENA (J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H E Adamson advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) COPPER PLATE coughing post-race. b) ROMEO'S MAGIC examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
