Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CADENZA (R Fourie) was stubborn loading. b) GLOBETONIC (Y Ramzan) was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates. c) THUNDER MASTER (C Little), CRUZADOR (C Habib) and TEEREX (*B Soodoo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h33) b) TEEREX (*B Soodoo) pulled hard in the early and middle stages. c) The saddle on BRIGHT FUTURE slipped sideways at the 1000m, which resulted in Jockey S Naidoo being unable to assist his mount. As a consequence, he eased this gelding out of the race approaching the 800m and dismounted. d) Jockey L Mxothwa did not persevere with his riding of PIBE DE ORO from the 100m and thereafter reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with gelding on his return to the stables. e) TEEREX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) *G Dookhit rode MIGHTY MAC. (declared 08h38 on 20251221) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil.
