THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCKY LAD (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) On his arrival at the start, Jockey A Domeyer expressed concern with TENANGO's action while proceeding to the start. TENANGO was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine TENANGO (A Domeyer) post-race. b) At the 100m KAIBOY (A Fortune), which showed a tendency to hang outwards, was directed out away from the heels of TENANGO (A Domeyer). c) ELUSIVE WINTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
