The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RICCARDO (C Zackey), PINK DIAMOND (M Michel) and DOUBLE OLYMPIC (K Matsunyane) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) SHOTGUN WILLIE (*D Pillay) commenced to over-race in the middle stages. b) SEND ME (T Godden) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight. c) DEFINITELY YES (C Habib) hung in from the 350m. d) BEACH PALACE (M Yeni) hung in, in the concluding stages. e) The Board have adjourned to review Jockey K de Melo's (SLYTHERIN) crop use in this race. f) In view of the performance of NATIONAL DREAM (A Mgudlwa) (9.10 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) SLYTHERIN (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
