Stipes Report
HENRY HARVEY bolted the course en route to the start and dislodged Jockey N Patel. This horse was taken in hand, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. Jockey N Patel was attended to by the course paramedics and transported to the Medical Centre for further assessment and was subsequently stood down. The ambulance was returned to the start before the commencement of the loading process. These incidents led to the delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) As the start was effected MAGIC SURPISE fly-jumped awkwardly leaving the starting stalls, dislodging Jockey K Matsunyane who was attended to by the course paramedics and transported back to the Jockey's quarters after being passed fit to ride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) At the 300m VIHAAN'S WEB (*J Botes) was steadied for a number of strides to avoid the heels of the loose horse. b) Approaching the 150m, MAJOR TOMMIE (C Murray) was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and the loose horse. c) In view of the performance of DONQUERARI (C Zackey) (8.65 lengths, 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) WILD JUSTICE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) DONQUERARI : Nothing obvious detected. THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED : a) Jockey N Patel was stood down after the running of this race with a soft tissue injury and dehydration (Dr Mohan). Rule 25.12 was not applied. SCRATCHINGS : a) FUTURE FLO : Cast in stable (Trainer - 26.12.2025/08h10). Rule 53.5 applies. b) HENRY HARVEY : Bolted the course (withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 15h38, 40/1 in the betting).
