THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FRERE JACQUES (K Matsunyane) was stubborn loading. Stable Employee N Houdalakis, acting on behalf of Trainer M N Houdalakis, was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) AMANATTO (C Habib) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) ESPINOZA (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. d) TWO FOR THE BOYS (A Fortune) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ESPINOZA (R Munger), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and AMANATTO (C Habib), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped. b) Approaching the 600m, TAKEYOURBESTSHOT (C Maujean) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of DESERT CLOUD (G Lerena), which shifted in and was immediately corrected. c) In view of the performance of MYSTIC VISION (M Yeni), (distance 16,25 lengths, betting 50/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of TWO FOR THE BOYS (A Fortune), (distance 18,50 lengths, betting 80/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) ESPINOZA (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
