THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TIRPITZ (C F Dicken) and RUN TO RIO (*D Pillay) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) RAGNAR THE KING (C Habib) hung in from the 150m. b) In the concluding stages, when racing in close proximity Jockey K de Melo (MASTER DU ROUVRAY) had his crop accidently struck from his grasp by Jockey C Murray's crop (GOTTA GO EDDIE). c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with DOUBLE CAUSEWAY in the running, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of LUCKY DOLLAR (T Godden) (16.15 lengths and 10/1 in the betting). The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer S H Ferrie will be asked to report back on the condition of LUCKY DOLLAR on return to the stables. e) MASTER DU ROUVRAY (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
