THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ELEGANTRIX (R Munger) was stubborn loading. b) GREEN FLASH (MK Katjedi) was slow into stride. c) As the start was effected, the left side front gate of starting stall 4 bounced back and made contact with the left shoulder of CALANTHA (C Murray). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with KOMATI RIVER. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that KINDRED HEART did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) CHROME TOURMALINE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
