Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WAVE OF GLORY (A Fortune) was restless and reared in the stalls. b) MONTICELLO (*V Jodhee) was restless in the stalls. c) FERRYMAN (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WAVE OF GLORY (A Fortune) lifted its left front shoe, which was refitted, causing a delay. b) Approaching the 400m Jockey R Fourie felt something amiss with THESHOWMUSTGOON, eased this gelding out of the race and dismounted at the 200m. THESHOWMUSTGOON was attended to on course by the Veterinary Surgeon. c) At the 200m, a tiring GREEN POINT (C Murray) had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between MONTICELLO (*V Jodhee) and FERRYMAN (K de Melo). d) THESHOWMUSTGOON (R Fourie) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding WAVE OF GLORY (A Fortune), Trainer SW Humby will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) WAVE OF GLORY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SW Humby was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) THESHOWMUSTGOON raced with blinkers. (declared 14h18 on 20251229) b) *S Bungane (ROYAL DAWN) weighed out at 51.2kg and only claimed 2.5kg of his 4kg allowance, of which 1kg was carded. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil.
