THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PROFESSOR SNAPE (O Noach) jumped slow, losing one length. b) FAST AND FREE (C Zackey) jumped inwards and made contact with SANSA STARK (JP van der Merwe). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 600m ARIOVISTUS (L Mxothwa), which was attempting to improve into a narrow run between CASSANDRA (*DD Louw) and FAST AND FREE (C Zackey), had to be checked, losing position, when both CASSANDRA (*DD Louw) and FAST AND FREE (C Zackey) shifted ground. Jockey C Zackey and Apprentice DD Louw appeared before the Board and were advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. b) Jockey O Noach reported that PROFESSOR SNAPE, which raced detached from the field in the early stages, took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of SANSA STARK (JP van der Merwe), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) GENTLEMAN JOE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
