THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COLORAMA (E Webber) was stubborn loading. b) PENNY'S WORLD (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. c) OPERA VERSE (*G Dookhit) jumped awkwardly. d) KAMAKAZI (*W Fourie) stood awkwardly in the stalls, jumped outwards and made contact with FREE WORLD (A Fortune) leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h26) b) Permission was granted for KILMONIVAIG (W Agrella) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) KAMAKAZI (*W Fourie) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) COLORAMA (E Webber) was hanging in from the 350m and was corrected at the 100m. e) CITY OF DREAMS (*B Soodoo) was hanging in from the 200m. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with PENNY'S WORLD. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer L Gila was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. g) Apprentice W Fourie (KAMAKAZI) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. h) Trainer JVA Strydom was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.1.1 in that he failed to obtain the prior agreement of Jockey W Agrella to ride DARLING GIRL, which resulted in a change of Rider. Trainer JVA Strydom signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. i) POMEROL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised.
