Stipes Report
ON ARRIVAL AT THE START, WORK RIDER S B MTHEMBU (RED ENCHANTRESS) NOTICED AN IRREGULARITY WITH HIS SADDLE. HE REPORTED IT TO THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS, AND AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE, HE WAS RETURNED TO THE CLERK OF SCALE TO REWEIGH. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) COMIC ARTIST (+P Mlangeni) and FESTIVAL OF LIGHT (+G Dadamasi) were slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b) At approximately the 300m, RED ENCHANTRESS (+S B Mthembu), which shifted out away from the crop, was carried in by BLOOD OF EDEN (+N Ngqwangi). As a consequence of this, RED ENCHANTRESS (+S B Mthembu) had to check and switch out to avoid the heels of BLOOD OF EDEN (+N Ngqwangi).
Work Rider N Ngqwangi was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of BLOOD OF EDEN, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RED ENCHANTRESS (+S B Mthembu) when he shifted in at approximately the 300m. Work Rider N Ngqwangi signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race.
Suspension date: 29 January 2025.
c) HUBERTUS HUNT (+N Jobose), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
