THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ENFLAME (R Munger), GERBERA (C Zackey) and READ ALL ABOUT IT (M Michel) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey R Munger, the rider of ENFLAME, briefly dropped his right-side rein at approximately the 800m. c) COPPER EAGLE (K Matsunyane) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. d) GERBERA (C Zackey) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m, and thereafter, shortly before the finish line, ducked in sharply for no apparent reason. e) GERBERA (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
