THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CADENZA (R Fourie) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. b) ON AN IMPULSE (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h58) b) Shortly after the start, ON AN IMPULSE (C Zackey), which jumped awkwardly outwards, made slight contact with KING RAHUL (*G Dookhit), which jumped inwards. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that ON AN IMPULSE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Apprentice G Dookhit was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline B) in that he struck KING RAHUL with his crop arm above shoulder height. Apprentice G Dookhit signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) NOTORIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised.
