Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMME WHAT I WANT dislodged Jockey A Fortune, without incident, while being loaded. Thereafter GIMME WHAT I WANT (A Fortune) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. b) DISTING (C Little) and SHE'S MY WORLD (M Yeni) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h37) b) At the 200m MAI SENSATION (JP van der Merwe) was held up for a number of strides when unable to secure clear running between BE MERRY (R Piechulek) and LOWVELD LILY (T Godden). c) Jockey C Habib reported that GREEN DIAMOND choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the performance of MIA MOO (O Murphy), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of GIMME WHAT I WANT he misused his crop by striking GIMME WHAT I WANT more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey A Fortune signed an admission of guilt and was fined R14 000,00. f) GIMME WHAT I WANT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (ZM) g) QUICKSTEPGAL, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Prinsloo was advised.
