Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUNSET RIOT (A Fortune) was restless in the stalls. b) DAWN TILL DUSK (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (17h11) b) TOUCHED BY ANGELS (G Lerena) proved difficult proceeding to the start, causing a delay. Trainer P Muscutt was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. c) Shortly after the start AVERSATOR (C Zackey) was bumped by DAWN TILL DUSK (S Khumalo), which had jumped awkwardly outwards. Thereafter, AVERSATOR (C Zackey) shifted inwards, which resulted in DAWN TILL DUSK (S Khumalo) having to be steadied and taken in behind runners. d) SUNSET RIOT (A Fortune) raced wide without cover on the turn. e) Approaching the 1000m AIR RAID (C Orffer) raced onto the heels of DELTA PRIDE (K de Melo). f) AIR RAID (C Orffer) was hanging in from the 300m. g) PLEASE BE TRUE (G van Niekerk) was hanging out from the 300m. h) DAWN TILL DUSK (S Khumalo) was held up in the concluding stages when close to the heels of PLEASE BE TRUE (G van Niekerk). i) Jockey K de Melo reported that DELTA PRIDE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. j) ROLAND GARROS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
