THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WORLDLY (*N Yuen) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) SOOTY (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h30) b) At the 150m WORLDLY (*N Yuen) was brushed on the hindquarters by SOOTY (R Fourie), which shifted out away from RHYDIAN (C Zackey), which showed a tendency to hang out and shifted out away from DAWN'S EARLY LIGHT (G van Niekerk), which was hanging out. c) At the 400m SHIFTING PATH (L Mxothwa) had to be checked, losing position, when tightened for room on the outside of DU MAURIER (A Domeyer), which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of DU MAURIER, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SHIFTING PATH when he shifted out at the 400m. Jockey A Domeyer signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 22/01/2026 to 28/01/2026, both dates inclusive.) d) WORLDLY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
