THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JABBERWOCKY (+G Dadamasi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Between the 300m and 200m, ROCK MY BOAT (+P Mlangeni) was carried in by INDIAN SPICE (+T Mango), which shifted in away from the crop. c) Work Rider T Lukhele reported that he felt something amiss with AFTERBURN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) GIFT OF ROYAL (+V Sithetho), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer B Webber, was advised (MS). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) MRS WONDERFUL: Work Rider B Cossa weighed out at 59,9kg, 2,5kg over the carded weight. Work Rider B Cossa was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on MRS WONDERFUL, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer S M Naidoo. Work Rider B Cossa signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in One (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 29 January 2026.
