THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONKEY'S WEDDING (K Matsunyane) was stubborn loading. b) EPONAS LANCE (*S Valjalo) was slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 1000m, SKY PILOT (C Habib) was carried out by SOSORU (C Murray), which commenced to over-race. As a consequence, SKY PILOT (C Habib) raced wide into the straight. c) In view of the performance of SKY PILOT (C Habib), (distance 10,10 lengths, betting 5/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) QUICKFREEZE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) STORM BURST raced with a tongue tie on (declared 13 January 2026 at 08H19).
