THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMMESUMLUV (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey D Schwarz was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of EMERALD COUNTESS, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (13), which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey D Schwarz signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R2000 was imposed. c) BELL OF ANGELUS (J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer B Webber, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BAKSHEESH was ridden by Jockey M Michel (declared 15 January 2026 at 08H02).
