Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SHORI KAI (M van Rensburg) was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly.
b)	DAS GUTE (*J Botes) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	ASINANTANGA (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing many lengths.
d)	CORAL CREEK (R Fourie) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h13)
b)	Permission was granted for ASINANTANGA (C Zackey) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c)	After being slow to begin, ASINANTANGA (C Zackey) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
d)	SILENT TRIGGER (A Fortune) was hanging out badly from the 300m and was corrected at the 100m.
e)	At approximately the 1300m, GOT THE FEVER (*B Soodoo) had to be steadied off the heels of FLOWER FESTIVAL (L Mxothwa), which had commenced to over race and had to be steadied off the heels of ACTION AMERICA (C Little), which shifted in marginally at the 1300m.
	Jockey C Little appeared before the Board and was advised to give more room to runners on his inside when shifting ground.
f)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding ASINANTANGA (C Zackey), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 17/01/2026 to 23/01/2026, both days inclusive) ASINANTANGA may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
g)	DAS GUTE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Gila was advised. (LM)

JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES:

a)	FLOWER FESTIVAL raced with a tongue tie. (declared 08h54 on 20260114)
b)	A Fortune (SILENT TRIGGER) rode +0.5kg. (54.8kgs)
c)	M van Rensburg (SHORI KAI) rode +1.5kg of which 1kg was carded. (53.9kgs)
