THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO MISS NOVAX (C MAUJEAN) BEING SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEING SCRATCHED. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	HEAVYLIESTHECROWN (K de Melo), EIGHT HATS (P Mxoli) and ANGEL'S OASIS (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	VALIEVA (*J Botes) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b)	Shortly after the start, CLAIRWOOD ROSE (R A Venniker) clipped the heels of EIGHT HATS (P Mxoli), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.		
c)	CAPTAIN SELVIE (C Habib) hung in from the 400m and thereafter shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. 
d)	VALIEVA (*J Botes) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m.
e)	Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with HEAVYLIESTHECROWN in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 	
f)	PLAY WITH THE WIND (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
