Race 1: Hollywoodbets DURBANVILLE WELCOMES YOU OPEN MAIDEN (F & M) (For all Maiden Fillies & Mares)

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	THREE TULIPS (M Yeni) was stubborn loading, causing a delay.
b)	GATHERING WINTER (G Wright) and FONT OF DREAMS (C Little) jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	GIMME THE POWER (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h49)
b)	At the 500m, when coming off the false rail, THREE TULIPS (M Yeni) had to ease when tightened for galloping room between the inside running rail and LADY OF FATE (G van Niekerk), which rolled in marginally. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni did not persevere with his riding of THREE TULIPS and reported that this filly had become unbalanced. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine THREE TULIPS.
	Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the manner in which he rode THREE TULIPS from the 300m. Jockey M Yeni advised that as a result of the above incident, he had been unable to get this filly balanced and, as a consequence, he was reluctant to push this filly out to the finish line. The Board noted his explanation.
c)	At the 450m ISLAND JEWEL (C Habib) had to ease when close to the heels of MEGHAN'S DIAMOND (L Mxothwa), which was directed outwards to obtain a clear run.
	Jockey L Mxothwa appeared before the Board and was advised to be more aware of other runners when shifting ground.
d)	Leaving the 200m ARKANSAS STATE (C Bantam), which raced green, had to steady when tightened for room between the inside running rail and THREE TULIPS (M Yeni).
e)	WORLD VICTORY (*EJ Muller) and ALESSIA ASHEVILLE (*S Bungane) raced wide on the turn and into the straight.
f)	Apprentice S Bungane reported that ALESSIA ASHEVILLE did not stride out freely in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
g)	Jockey C Little reported that he felt something amiss with FONT OF DREAMS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
h)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding THREE TULIPS (M Yeni), Trainer AN Marcus will be 	advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
i)	RAFFISH TREND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (TJ)
