THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SICILY (C Little) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. b) CHAMPAGNE MAC (K de Melo) jumped outwards and made contact with EASY LIVING (O Noach). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h17) b) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of COUNTRY TIME he misused his crop by striking COUNTRY TIME more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey C Zackey signed an admission of guilt and was fined R4000,00. c) GRAVITY , the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) SICILY raced without blinkers. (declared 07h59 on 20260120) b) C Habib rode AVIGNON.
