Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	SHINING SEA (G Wright) was fractious in the stalls and got its left front leg caught in the partition of the starting stalls. This gelding was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded.  Thereafter, SHINING SEA lost 2 lengths. 
b)	BELLE'S FIRST WAVE (*G Pieterse) was stubborn to load. 
c)	COLOUR MASTER (S Brown) lost one length.   
   
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	SHINING SEA (G Wright) proved reluctant proceeding to the start. Trainer C Bestel was advised that should this gelding behave similarly in future it may be suspended.  (RH)
b)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to SHINING SEA (G Wright), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion.  Suspension dates: 26.04.22 to the 02.05.22. SHINING SEA may not be presented for re-passing during this period.  Trainer C Bestel was advised. (SL)
c)	Jockey M Yeni signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse THE GREEN GALLANT more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (18) Jockey M Yeni struck the horse THE GREEN GALLANT, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed.
d)	Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse SHINING SEA more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey G Wright struck the horse SHINING SEA, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed.
e)	GREY LINNGARI (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer V Ndlovu acting on behalf of Trainer P V Lafferty advised (NS).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	THE GREEN GALLANT raced without ear muffs (advised 25.04.22/7h49).
