THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO FRANKLY FINE (L NHLAPO) PROVING RELUCTANT PROCEEDING TO THE START AND HAD TO BE LED BY A HANDLER, AS WELL AS INCLUSION (P MXOLI) AND ASIAH'S TIARA (*T MAYHEW) PROVING STUBBORN LOADING. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	ASIAH'S TIARA (*T Mayhew) was stubborn loading 
b)	INCLUSION (P Mxoli) was stubborn loading and thereafter stumbled leaving the stalls. 
Trainer T Zackey was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT).
c)	RIVER KITTEN (C Maujean) stumbled leaving the stalls.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b)	FRANKLY FINE (L Nhlapo) proved reluctant to canter to the start. Trainer B Webber was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, he may be suspended. 
c)	At approximately the 400m, INCLUSION (P Mxoli) was steadied and switched in to avoid the heels of MASTASH (C Zackey), which had come to the end of its run. 
d)	In view of the performance of BLUE CRYSTAL (D Schwarz), (distance 19,40 lengths, betting 100/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.	
e)	In view of the performance of MASTASH (C Zackey), (distance 20,40 lengths, betting 16/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.	
f)	In view of the performance of FRANKLY FINE (L Nhlapo), (distance 29,50 lengths, betting 100/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.	
g)	Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with RIVER KITTEN in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 	
h)	CULTURATI (M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.	
Trainer G J Maroun is to be questioned regarding this gelding's improved performance.

a)	HAT AND HEELS: Apprentice S Valjalo weighed out at 52,1kg, only claiming 2,5kg of her 4kg apprentice allowance (declared 21 January 2026 at 08H28).
