THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WILD FIG (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. b) TWENTY DRACHMA'S (*W Fourie) and HOSPICES DE BEAUNNE (*B Soodoo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h35) b) After being slow into stride, TWENTY DRACHMA'S (*W Fourie) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. c) Jockey R Fourie did not persevere with his riding from the 40m and thereafter reported that he felt something amiss with WILD FIG. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) TRIPPING THUNDER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) *B Soodoo rode HOSPICES DE BEAUNE. (declared 19h48 on 20260122) b) FRENCH FLAME raced without a compression mask.
