THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	YOJIMBO (C Habib) and STOP THE TRAFFIC (M K Katjedi) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	In consultation with the Riders, the going was changed from Good to Soft, to Soft. 
b)	At approximately the 400m, INSTANT ATTRACTION (R Munger) was carried in by HUEHUETENANGO (M Yeni) which hung in. 
c)	Approaching the 200m, CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (S Khumalo), which rolled in was bumped by ROYAL MIRACLE (G Lerena), which hung out from the 400m.
d)	In view of the performance of SOVEREIGN CROWN (S Veale), (distance, betting 25/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
e)	Jockey P Strydom reported that UMHLANGA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
f)	Jockey K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with RIVER KITTEN in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
g)	HUEHUETENANGO (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
